Full of life experience, yet Dean 'Deano' Harrison had thirty-seven jobs behind him, a broken relationship and was living in his parents garage. Doesn't sound like luck, right? That is, until you turn it on it's head. Those situations all combined to create the low point in Deano's life which fuelled the incentive to change.

One of the things Deano did was to create a 'luck-list'. Starting off small, just one thing a day that he considered lucky - a great sunrise, close a difficult sale, meeting someone interesting, even something as simple as a free carspace in the middle of busy High St! Next, he set about changing his attitude. Every day he pondered the question of 'what' could he expect to happen...pretty soon he realised that by anticipating success, by expecting good things to happen, they did!

“Lucky folks - without even knowing it - think and behave in ways that create good fortune in their lives. They are open to what's around them. That's the key to it.”

Richard Wiseman, the world's official 'Luck' researcher

Instead of wallowing in the mire, Deano opened the floodgates to success and was surprised by the changes in both his work performance, and his personal life. He began to seek some sense into what had previously seemed the 'chaos' of random good fortune, and set about creating a workable business model or role-play that allows others to apply the same belief that he has to their lives - that there are some things you can do to help your luck along:

  • Open your eyes look for new opportunities. If you don't see them, create them! Then relax and let it all happen.
  • Listen to your inner voice. Go with your intuition and gut feelings.
  • Expect good fortune. Don't be surprised when something lucky happens - you deserve it! The more you believe it, the more good things start happening.
  • Creating and caring for your customer base - use your powers of attraction.
  • Budgeting, and being prepared for action. Remember the old adage 'Don't leave till tomorrow, what you can do today!'

"Luck is where preparation meets opportunity." Denis Waitely. This really is the ethos behind Deano's principle. 'Luck' perhaps is not what it seems, for Deano it's not a chance (and fantastic) intervention in his life, but more something he has orchestrated and prepared for through diligence and deliverance.

Denis Waitely said "L U C K - Labour Under Correct Knowledge" - it's something Deano relates to and uses in his teaching. To him it says 'take action, work smart and work hard...and you will reap rewards!'

Day by day Deano's 'luck-list' grows. What's on your list?
